Division 1 has been learning about electrical circuits with Ms. Matson. Lots of excited hands on learners were busy with their circuits last week. Everyone got into the action.
At school, students have been listening to the Langley Picture book of the Year. "The Most Magnificent Thing" encourages students to create and invent new things. We brainstormed inventions together after listening to this book.
In the Learning Commons, "The Book With No Pictures" continues to be a favourite. It is especially fun to see watch students read it to each other. In Kindergarten, Mrs. DeGroot's class was learning about what Bears like.
In division 4, students were learning about the art from Ted Harrison. There were some beautiful projects form our students. In our Cupcake 1 room, self-regualtion skills are part of the curriculum. Superflex, the zones of self-regulation as well as learning about appropriate behaviour are topics that Mrs. Powell presents in her social friendship groups.
On Friday we said "Goodbye to Pokemon" cards. Students were invited to a Pokemon tournament in the gym at lunch time. Students in k,1 and 2 and older students on grade 3,4 & 5 had the opportunity to trade and "do battle." Students are asked not to bring their cards to school on Monday, but to take advantage of the increasing warmer weather and to play some more active games outside. Another great week at Richard Bulpitt Elementary School.
