Well done to our Reading Links Challenge team "the Bulldog Bookworms." The team placed fourth out of 11 teams. Well done on so much reading! Well done Nichole for placing first in the District Speech fest for grades four and five. She gave an excellent speech on F.O.P. Hugging power is a great power to have when you are in kindergarten! Grade threes are learning about Canada. A good place to work is on the floor. Thanks to Mrs. Robertson for her lessons on "Cloudwalker" and looking after the Earth. Our "Me to We'" club have been busy making posters for "Wear Your Jeans to Work Day" a fundraiser for Children's Hospital. Thanks Constable Laws for visiting our school. The Kindergarten students were happy to see her car, the lights and the sirens. Our staff was busy on collaboration morning learning about how to work as a team and how to challenge their students. On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday April 7, 8 & 9th, we welcomed the TOL fire safety house to Richards Bulpitt. Students in grades 1,2,and 3 learned about fire safety from our own fire fighters. Thanks to Mrs. Robertson our Aboriginal literacy teacher for teaching our students about taking care of our world. In Ms. Mcleod's classroom, kindergarten students are learning about how to improve their pictures. It's great to see our youngest students increasing their writing skills in their journals. Our grade three students are learnig how to represent their numbers in different ways. Division 1 and 2 students are designing ads for the Langley Advance. A good opportunity to learn about persuasive writing, and advertising. Grade five students are learning about pizzas in french. Grade fives are learning basketball on Tuesdays at lunch and Thursdays before school. On Fridays after school, drop-in hockey is happening with Ms. Sofiak and Mr. Kroeker. On Friday four Richard Bulpitt students went to the District Speech fest. Well done to Mackenzie, Elizabeht, Evan and Nichole. They represented our school well and did an amazing job! Well done Nichole! Everyone at Richard Bulpitt is very proud of Nichole who spoke on a subject that is dear to her and her family F.O.P. An amazing speech! Way to go Bulldogs!
More wonderings from our kindergarten students.Grade two students are preparing for Easter! All of us were very proud of our speech fest finalists. On Wednesday April 1st, the school was treated to some first class speeches from our students. Thank-you to our judges who faced a tough decision. Mrs. Patton, Mrs. Bulpitt and Mr. Sangha choose our four finalists who will be representing our school on April 10th at the school board office district speech fest. Congratulations to all of our finalists but especially to Evan, Elizabeth, Mackenzie and Nichole. Happy Easter to all of our Bulldogs! Enjoy the Easter Break.
