What a busy last two weeks! We had "Jump for Healthy Hearts day" on Friday February the 13th. A big thanks to our big buddies for helping with that. Parent/teacher conferences were held and students had an opportunity to show their learning to their parents. The "Me to We" club were busy making their posters for their rafiki bracelets. Parents and teachers were busy planing for Multi-cultural day. As always the learning continued in classrooms, children were engaged and happy to be at school. |
Sure loved it that even our teachers were jumping for healthy hearts. Thanks to Mrs. Rolston for designing the Official Passport.
Valentine's Day crafts are all over the school and in Mrs. Lenko's office, the "Lion" arrived waiting for his performance in the Assembly.
Ms. Macdonald welcomed Rachel from Manitoba and her presentation on bullying. Outside Mrs. Bailey and Ms. Macleod's classroom, the Spring bulbs are up and blooming.
An amazing illustrated book from one of our grade one students!
Multi-cultural day happened on Thursday February 19th. It was over-whelming to see parents, staff and students participate with 8 different cultural stations. Many thanks to everyone who came and helped. These are our Aboriginal and French Canadian stations.
We were so lucky to have parents help out everywhere! Here is our Chinese station and Mrs. Bowman at the "Me to We" station.
The food, crafts and displays were astounding. Here is the team from India and the Hispanic station.
Great Britain had some wonderful displays as did the Korean station who also had clothes for our little girls to try on.
Children wrote messages on the hands as to how they could change the world. The Korean students opened the assembly with a Korean song that included fans held by the older children.
Mrs. Bulpitt came to spend the day and visited the stations as well as the assembly. We were honoured by having the Aboriginal drummers perform for us.
Mexican dancers Maria and Leticia performed two dances. They were fast, colourful and fun! Our Chinese students performed a song for Lunar New Year.
The Tae Kwon Do demonstration from our students was amazing and the Lion came and paraded around the gym wishing "Happy Lunar New Year" to everyone. Another wonderful week of learning at Richard Bulpitt Elementary School. Way to go Bulldogs!
